Scope & Applicability
This policy applies to all IP services (patent, trademark, copyright, design filings, IP Bank transactions, seminars, workshops, IP Cell setups, and related offerings) provided by International Institute of Knowledge and Research (IIKR).
Cancellation by Client
- Before service initiation: Requests submitted before the service has started (for example, before drafting or official filing) may receive a full refund, minus any third-party or payment processing fees.
- After service initiation: If work has commenced (e.g., NDA signed, searches/drafting begun), refunds may be partial or discretionary and will be calculated based on actual work completed and non-recoverable costs.
Cancellation by IIKR
If IIKR cancels a project due to unforeseen circumstances or inability to proceed, the client will receive a full refund including fees already paid. IIKR may also offer alternatives such as deferment, rescheduling, or referral to a trusted partner.
Refund Processing
All approved refunds will be processed within 14 business days to the original payment method unless both parties agree on an alternative arrangement in writing.
Non-Refundable Items
- Government or statutory fees paid to authorities (non-refundable once remitted).
- Fees for third-party services that are non-refundable (e.g., search reports commissioned from external vendors).
- Services that have been fully rendered (for example, completed filings or delivered seminars/workshops).
Exceptions & Dispute Resolution
Any disputes arising from cancellations or refund requests will first be addressed via mediation. If mediation does not resolve the issue, the dispute shall be referred to arbitration under applicable Indian law.
